Overview
Ripple is an employee advocacy tracking platform. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Ripple includes a web application and an optional Chrome extension that reads LinkedIn post analytics on your behalf.
What we collect
Through the web app:- Your name and email address (used for your account)
- LinkedIn post URLs, impression counts, likes, and comments that you submit manually
- Your organization name and team membership
Through the Chrome extension (if installed):- LinkedIn post impressions, likes, and comments from your own LinkedIn profile pages — data that is already visible to you when you are logged in to LinkedIn
- The URL of each post scraped
- The date and time of the scrape
We do
not collect your LinkedIn password, private messages, connections list, or any data from other users' profiles.
How we use your data
- To display your post performance on your personal dashboard
- To calculate your position on your team leaderboard
- To calculate incentive payouts configured by your employer
- To send Slack notifications to your team channel (if configured by your admin)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside of the Ripple platform.
Who can see your data
- You — can always see your own posts, impressions, and earnings
- Your admin — can see all team members' post counts, impressions, and calculated earnings. They cannot see your LinkedIn password or private content.
- Your teammates — can see your name, job title, post count, and total impressions on the leaderboard. They cannot see your earnings.
Chrome extension data handling
The Ripple Chrome extension reads LinkedIn post analytics only from pages you are actively visiting while logged in to LinkedIn. It only reads data that LinkedIn already shows you — impression counts are only visible to the post author, so the extension only ever reads your own post data.
Data is temporarily stored in Chrome local storage to detect changes between syncs. It is sent to Ripple's servers (hosted on Vercel and Supabase) over HTTPS. No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase, with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access data from their own organization. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store LinkedIn credentials.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Your employer (the organization admin) may also remove your account, which will deactivate your access.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Uninstall the Chrome extension at any time — this stops all future data collection
Third-party services
Ripple uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting
- Vercel — web application hosting
- Resend — transactional email (invite emails only)
- Slack — optional notifications (only if your admin configures a webhook)
